My main concern for this carving was to create the strength and life force connotations associated with the human being. I chose to depict the mighty Tāne-nui-ā-Rangi to reflect these attributes which are characteristics of a chief.
Medium: Carved out of native Tōtara wood, pāua shell inlays, features and paint.
Dimensions: 500mm high
