'Te Kete Tuauri' Carved Tahā (Embellished and carved Māori Gourd)

Hand-carved Tahā by James Cannon, created from a New Zealand hue gourd with pāua shell inlays, feathers, painted details, and traditional-inspired materials.

This Tahā is a representation of Te Kete Tuauri—the basket of spiritual connection, unseen ritual, sacred memory, karakia (prayers), and the cosmic order.

Medium: Hand-carved hue (NZ gourd) with wood supports, pāua shell inlays, stainless steel rod, hemp binding, feathers, paint and oil
